Intel High Definition DSP – No sound on Windows 11

Symptom

No output sound devices are detected in Windows 11.

Resolution

  1. In Device Manager Intel High Definition DSP will have an exclamation mark against it.
  2. Expand System devices
  3. Scroll down to Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED.
  4. Double click it
  5. Select the Driver tab
  6. Click Update driver
  7. Click Browse my computer for drivers
  8. Click Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
  9. Select the first driver
  10. Click Next
